Where do the funds raised go?
All funds raised from Melanoma March 2019 will go towards a national research project dedicated to treating melanoma and improving patient outcomes.
Do I have to fundraise?
There is no obligation to fundraise when participating in Melanoma March however we would love it if you did! As an individual, a team or an organisation, you can make a massive difference by donating!. Doesn’t matter if it’s big or small, we appreciate it all!
Is the cost of registration tax deductible?
All donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible when the donor receives nothing of value in return. However, should you purchase a raffle ticket, an entry ticket to a fundraising event or merchandise, this is not tax deductible. For more information about taxable donations, please contact the Australian Tax Office.
ON THE DAY
What do I need to bring?
We also recommend bringing a broad-brimmed hat, sunglasses and sun-safe clothing to cover up from the sun. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle. Food and drinks will also be available at the event. You may wish to bring a camera to capture the day or a poster to honour a loved one you are marching for. In the case of bad weather, make sure you bring wet weather gear and/or a change of clothes.
Can I bring my dog?
Four-legged friends are welcome at the Melanoma March events held at venues which allow dogs. Please check with the local organising committee if you are unsure, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Will there be ATMs at the event?
No. ATMs will not be available at Melanoma March events. Some events will have EFTPOS machines, but you will not be able to draw cash out. We recommend you bring some cash with you if you think you will want to purchase food, drinks or merchandise.
What time do I need to arrive?
We recommend you arrive 30-60 minutes before your event’s start time. All participants will need to be ‘checked in’ prior to beginning the March.
Can my friends and family register on the day?
Registrations can be done on the day of the event but please ensure you get there early to avoid long queues. We recommend registering before the event online to save time.
